THOMPSON CEMETERY
Luella Hawk and Julia Snodgrass report in their Pioneers Cemeteries of Whitley Co that these graves were moved to Lakeview. Descendents of Ezra Thompson (who now spell it without the p) have searched but report they have not been able to verify this. Ezra Thompson was one of the very earliest of settlers of Richland. The first death of the township occurred in February 1837 at his house when John Jones and his family stayed with the Thompson’s while waiting for their own cabin. John’s son, Samuel, became sick on the trail and then died . Samuel was the first to be buried in Summit cemetery. Name — Description — Location
