ROUND LAKE CEMETERY

When the Churubusco Genealogical Society published their index of Smith township cemeteries in 1980, their introduction to Round Lake cemetery went as follows:

“Round Lake Cemetery is located on the east side of Round Lake in section 7 of Smith Township. It is on road 350E between rads 500N and 600N.

Although the exact history of Round Lake Cemetery is not known, it has been said that Jacob Brumbaugh set aside a portion of land as a burial place for the members of the Church of the Brethren, known at that time as the German Baptist Church of Whitley County.”
